Southern Star Board Appoints Jimmy Staton President & Chief Executive Officer

Owensboro, KY – November 1, 2016 – Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline, Inc. today announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Jimmy D. Staton as President & Chief Executive Officer effective December 5, 2016. Jerry L. Morris, Southern Star’s current President & Chief Executive Officer, will assume the role of President & Chief Executive Officer Emeritus until his retirement in early 2017.

Jimmy comes with an extensive background in the energy industry. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President and Member of the Board of Directors of Venture Global LNG. Prior to joining Venture Global, Jimmy served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Columbia Pipeline Group, Northern Indiana Public Service Company and the Columbia Distribution Companies. His experience includes leadership roles in the gas distribution, electric, interstate pipeline transmission and midstream segments in the energy sector. He has been active in industry groups such as the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America, the American Gas Association, the American Gas Foundation, and the Southern Gas Association and has held positions on the Boards of Directors for several organizations. Jimmy graduated from Louisiana State University in 1983 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. Jimmy and his wife will be relocating to Owensboro.
